Zeus Browser for BlackBerry 10 brings back the Adobe Flash Experience

With BlackBerry OS 10.3.1, support for Adobe Flash in the browser was terminated and not everyone agreed with the decision made by BlackBerry. Workarounds were found with Android browser apps until now! Meet Zeus Browser by FileArchiveHaven, a native BlackBerry 10 browser with Adobe Flash support.

Do you want to view a BlackBerry live meeting or discussion? Or maybe you want to have private browsing embedded in your browser? This will let you do all of that. Zeus Browser supports several different browser plugin formats, allowing access to new content – even including Adobe Flash (Version 11)!

Based on the open source Flash Browser project, Zeus Browser uses the publicly available open-source BlackBerry Browser while adding several additions including Adobe Flash 11 and DuckDuckGo support.

  • Secure browsing in browser (again)
  • Flash ‘just works’, no more copying files
  • DuckduckGo
  • Many backend tweaks to improve flash stability

Zeus Browser is available for $0.99 at BlackBerry World.

P.S: If you don’t wish to pay for the app, you can still install the old version:

For the same reason that I continue to use BB10 as my preferred OS, I still use WordPerfect as my word processor of choice. In each instance, though other products are now more popular, they are not necessarily better than what they are replacing.

My question is, is there a developer who will create an app that allows one to read, create and edit WP documents on their BB device? Corel has an app that they sell for about $6.00, but it does not allow one to create or edit the documents. It would be great if there were a plugin that would allow Docs to Go to read, edit and create wpd files just as it does with doc or docx files. The legacy OS at least opened wpd files sent as email attachments, but not so with BB10.

I confess my ignorance when it comes to coding. Is there something about WP that makes creating such an app unusually difficult? I’d gladly pay $10.00, or more, for a WP reader/editor/writer app that worked with, or as well as, Docs to Go.
